Run Dungog is a community running festival, which caters for runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities. Run Dungog is an event of the Dungog Shire Community Centre, to support the local community.

Kids Run Free


50km Trail Run - Mt Richardson
Saturday 3rd August - 8:30am

A once-a-year running event. 50kms from the Dungog Common to the summit of Mt Richardson and back along council reserve, private farms and dirt tracks. It is stunning, unique and capped to 100 runners.

21km Trail Run - Dungog Common
Saturday 3rd August - 10:00am

A half-marathon trail event along the tracks of the pristine Dungog Common. This is a challenging and stunning course and great for runners, joggers and walkers.

5km and 10km - Dungog Common
Sunday 4th August - 9am

On Sunday 4th August we will host two trail running events on the trails within the Dungog Common. A 5km and 10km event. This is a fantastic trail running experience for the whole family. Kids under 12 run free.


Free Community Training Sessions


Keen to join Run Dungog but need some support to increase your fitness levels? Join our free community training sessions.

Mondays: 4pm - HIIT @ Dungog Fitness. Wednesdays: 7am - Strength @ Dungog Fitness. Thursdays: 6:15am Trail Run @ Dungog Common. Saturdays: 6:15am Run @ 51 Dowling Street.



Run Dungog is organised by a committee consisting of passionate trail running locals and interested community members. All committee members are volunteers. The event is hosted by The Dungog Shire Community Centre with all proceeds reinvested into the community..

Dungog is in the Hunter Region of NSW and is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river village.

What about the kids?

If you would like to run the Saturday events but are not sure what to do with the kids then sign them up for the Wangat and Wildcraft Australia outdoor adventure day in the Dungog Common. The kids will be supervised for the duration of Saturday’s events with bushwalking, busk skills, a bush picnic and bush crafts. Hosted in the Dungog Common they will have the chance to watch the start of the run and be at the Dungog Common on your return.

Sunday events will be hosted at the Dungog Common and all kids under 12 run free, so enjoy a family running day - sign up for the 5km with the kids and enjoy the stunning trails of the Dungog Common.
